This book was created to explain that reading, even when children are small and cannot read, is an experience to share with an adult to bond and have fun. Reading aloud has, in fact, the power to relate and to transform both the reader and the listener. It fosters the child’s cognitive abilities, and the relational abilities of the parent or grandparent who reads, enriches the emotional baggage of both and the ability to master their emotions.
“When children are very young, we adults worry about what enters their organism, for example food. We seldom ask about what enters their mind. What a pity! A book is a cultural object children can only encounter if at their side there is a conscious adult”.
