On resurrection and eschatology, “We should like to hear you [...] some other time,” the Athenians say to Paul. And yet it is good to talk about it, even today, in the hyper-secularized context of European society. This volume deals with these issues starting from the conviction that the Christian proclamation of the Kingdom of God should not be the subject of dissent linked to ecclesial membership. The open questions and also the differences are, as far as the essential is concerned, transversal with respect to the confessions. The authors have not, therefore, adopted a comparative perspective, aimed at identifying consensus and differences, but address the theme (God himself, in his coming to us in Christ, through the Spirit, now and on the last day, however it is understood) from three complementary points of view: the resurrection (Ștefan Munteanu, Orthodox), the judgment (Antonio Nitrola, Catholic), the fulfillment (Fulvio Ferrario, Protestant).

Ștefan Munteanu, born in Romania in 1972, is full professor of Biblical Theology at the Institute of Orthodox Theology Saint Serge in Paris.

Msgr. Antonio Nitrola (Rome, 1958) is a priest of the Diocese of Rome. Since 2011 he has been full professor of Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome. He is considered one of the world’s leading experts in eschatology.

Fulvio Ferrario (Milan, 1958), after graduating in philosophy (1980) and theology (1987), was ordained to the pastoral ministry (1989). Since 2002 he has been teaching Dogmatics and related disciplines at the Waldensian Faculty of Theology in Rome.
