Bianca Monti is a young painter. But she is also a spy. In Milan in 1820, where the Austrian government was re-established after the fall of Napoleon, groups of conspirators act in the shadows to restore power to the citizens. Among these, one stands out, made up of women only: the Gardeners’ Society. And it is precisely to this secret society Bianca is affiliated, who soon begins to lead a double life: a monotonous and quiet life, between musical evenings and walks through the streets of the city, and another decidedly livelier, with carriages to follow, disguises to wear and cards to hide in the most unexpected places. Bianca faces ever new missions trying not to be discovered and arrested by the Austrian authorities, aware of the presence of individuals who threaten their power.

Altea Villa has a PhD in Contemporary History. She has been writing books for years and collaborating with children’s magazines. She is too particularly involved in edutainment. The Magnificent Gardeners’ Society is her first children’s novel.
