Immersed as we are in a hectic life, invested by an irrepressible flow of knowledge, notions, social practices, meanings, it
becomes essential to have a seismograph able to grasp the
trends of our life and a compass to orient ourselves. All this
is possible taking care of our inner world. We can take a cue
from someone who represents a reference model, indicated
as such by different religious and cultural traditions: Abraham.
A figure capable of entering our life, through a daily path of
simple but demanding meditation. In fact, the protagonist is
no longer the unknown “other”, distant from us, but we are
called to act in the first person. This proposal, which can be
used by everybody, is divided into 190 meditation outlines
and 719 questions, according to the approach of Ignatius
of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits and author of the Spiritual
Exercises.
Fr. Gianfranco Matarazzo sj (Teano – Caserta, 1963). After a law
degree and the bar exam, he entered the Jesuit novitiate. He
