The book makes us contemplate the various parts of the physical body of Jesus: feet, legs, hands, side, heart, face... A fascinating and moving journey, in the light of the Gospel texts, which reveals the life of Jesus Christ even more to us engraved in his body, the "anatomy of God", within which the entire human existence makes sense. In the past, as the volume clearly demonstrates, the contemplation of the blessed and divine body of Jesus was a source of saints and artistic inspiration and fiery proclamation of the Gospel. But, for our author, it can also be so for today. Christianity must return to contemplating Jesus "from head to toe", to immerse its gaze in the Total Christ, not seeing him as a reality two millennia distant, but contemporary with us, Christ alive among us: in the Eucharist, in Church, in the wounded flesh of the poor. The body of Christ is then not just an icon to contemplate, but a physical reality in which we are inserted after his resurrection and in which each of us can find ourselves.
