So Many Years with Priests, and She Has Still Faith! A Novel The new parish priest arrives in the village. There is a lot of curiosity, and the most curious person is obviously Perpetua, the priest’s housekeeper. After so many years with his predecessor, how is it going to be to collaborate with this young priest? Peeking at the pages of her diary readers discover the episodes of their first year together, marked by important moments of parish life: from the solemn entrance of the priest with the Bishop to the Christmas and Easter festivities, from the First Communions for the catechism children to the summer camps with the teens, from the patronal feast to the visits to the sick during the terrible time of the pandemic. As the days go by, we see the friendship and complicity develop between this woman, capable of describing through irony and a pinch of perfidy the world around the bell tower, and the novice priest. A behind-the-scenes glimpse of community life in our time told with heart and humour.
